| Quick shot of all the pieces with seams that had to go. Looks pretty messy... |
The next day, I came in and got to cleaning up the cement. I'm sure most of us have seen how to get rid of seamlines, and if not, there are tons of great resources out there. (Not that I'd be any good or knowledgeable enough to do tutorials anyways!) Most of them turned out pretty good in my opinion, save for a few small divots. Nothing a bit of putty can't fix... If I had any putty on hand that is... I had to live with it, but then again, it's not something you'd notice unless you were really closely examining it. So for all intents and purposes, I'd be the only one agonizing at that imperfection.
Next step was pretty straight forward. Wash the parts, let the parts dry, get ready to get that nice prime laid on those parts. Of course, it has been a while since I used my airbrush, so of course it has an issue where the paint was not coming out in a steady stream. Was it the new compressor? The new pressure gauge? Was the thinning ratios off? Were the parts not thoroughly cleaned? The only way to figure it out was to fix everything. So there goes my plan of getting all the parts primed for the week. After about an hour or two of cleaning and double checking, I finally managed to get the spray nice and even. Unfortunately, it was getting pretty late in the night, so I couldn't get more than the upper half of the kit primed.
Now to wait for this weekend when I have some time and finish up priming the bottom half of the kit. Still debating on what color to paint the kit. I had previously mentioned the construction orange look, but I wanted to add some of my personal touch there so it's not a carbon copy. I'm leaning towards purple just because I saw a custom Kshatriya and a review for the recent P-Bandai Gyan Krieger...
We'll find out in about a day or two, I guess!
